The Role for a HGV Class 2 Dust Cart Driver

You’ll be operating a Dust Cart vehicle across residential routes in your area.

This is a Driver/Loader role, meaning you will be driving the vehicle and assisting the crew with loading when required.

What You’ll Be Doing Day to Day as a HGV Class 2 Dust Cart Driver

• Driving a Class 2 Dust Cart safely and confidently through residential areas
• Helping loaders with collections during busy rounds or when short-staffed
• Refuelling and completing end-of-day paperwork
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe vehicle throughout the day

General Expectations of a HGV Class 2 Dust Cart Driver

• Maintain a high standard of driving, especially in tight and high-density residential areas
• Work well as part of a three-person crew

Working Hours of a HGV Class 2 Dust Cart Driver

• Monday to Friday (optional weekends)
• 5am – 2pm
• 39 contracted hours per week
• plus overtime at 1.5 x
• Total expected annual earnings: £43,500+

Requirements as a HGV Class 2 Dust Cart Driver

Essential:

• HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• CPC & Digital Tacho Card
• Maximum of 3 points (no DR/IN/DD)
• Able to carry out some manual loading when needed

Desirable (not essential):

• Rear Steer experience
• Tipper experience
• Recycling/Loader experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £36,500.00-£43,250.00 per year
