HGV 1 Driver

The Best Connection Reading are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for a temporary to permanent role with one of the UK''s largest and most well-established distribution operations, based in Reading.

Key information:

• Monday to Friday (NO WEEKENDS).
• Weekend shifts available if you wish to work (OT Paid)
• Early starts between 4.30am and 5.30am.
• Pay rate - -19.08 per hour. OT rate - -28.62 per hour.
• A quarterly bonus of -500 for achievement of targets!

*Please note this role does involve manual handling of kegs of alcohol.

Key responsibilities:

• Multi-drop deliveries of beer kegs to the hospitality sector.
• Working alongside an experienced drivers mate who is there to assist with the handball.
• Safely secure goods for transport.
• Manoeuvre goods using tail lifts and pump trucks.
• Follow manual handling best practice.
• Meet scheduled delivery times and route plans.
• Follow all site, depot and customer H&S procedures.

Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Ability to work within a team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
