which is critical in the promotion and delivery of the Council’s heritage services.Job Requirements:A strong interest in heritage, museums, or tourismExperience in a customer-facing or public engagement roleAbility to manage volunteers and work independently (including lone working)Reliable, well-organised, and comfortable handling cashFlexible and proactive, with excellent communication skillsKey Responsibilities:Open and close the site during public hoursWelcome and engage with visitors to enhance their experienceManage online and phone bookingsOversee the cottage’s artefact collection in line with required standardsOperate financial systemsPlan and deliver public events and activitiesCo-ordinate with volunteers and work closely with the Visitor Venues Team LeaderEnsure safe, smooth, and high-quality site operationKey Attributes:Customer-Focused ApproachStrong Communication SkillsOrganisational and Planning AbilitiesDigital CompetencyCollaborative WorkingInitiative and Problem SolvingYou will be required to apply a high level of attention to detail when carrying out this role, to support the delivery of heritage services at an operational level and show an appreciation of the contribution local government can make to the welfare of the people living, working, and visiting the district.
