Senior Heritage Officer Location: Brecon Salary: Grade 7-10 £34,434 - £42,839 Vacancy Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week (Part time hours considered) Closing date: 26th May 2026 Interview date: 8th June 2026 Job Purpose: To support the day-to-day delivery of the Authority s heritage and building conservation service and related development management and policy advice. To ensure the service meets the needs of its users and performance targets are met. Main Duties To provide building conservation advice and recommendations to the Development Management Team on listed building consent applications, conservation area consent applications and heritage related planning applications. To provide heritage and building conservation advice on pre-application and other planning enquiries. To support the Enforcement Team in heritage related matters including unauthorised work to listed buildings and conservation areas, and the preparation of evidence for enforcement cases including Listed Building Enforcement Notices. To prepare and present reports to relevant Committees as appropriate in connection to planning/Listed Building Consent applications and other heritage matters as may be required. To provide advice to applicants, agents and the public on the appropriate conservation of historic buildings and related matters. This is not a complete list of responsibilities.
