We''re recruiting on behalf of our client in Chesterfield (S44) for a Counterbalance FLT Driver (8 Tonne)/ Machine Operative to join their busy production team. This is an excellent ongoing temporary role offering regular daytime hours and the chance to work with specialist machinery in a supportive environment.

The Role

This is a dual-role position, combining forklift driving with machine operation. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Operating an 8 tonne Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
• Moving and loading large cable drums around the production area
• Feeding cable from large mother drums onto smaller customer drums using winding machinery
• Monitoring the winding process to ensure products meet customer specifications
• Measuring and preparing cable orders accurately
• Carrying out quality checks
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Following all health and safety procedures

What We''re Looking For

Essential:

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (in-house licences accepted)
• Experience operating Counterbalance FLTs up to 8 tonnes
• Previous experience within a manufacturing, warehouse or industrial environment
• Good attention to detail

Desirable:

• Experience operating production or winding machinery
• Experience handling large cable drums or similar heavy products

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
6:30am – 4:30pm

Pay

£12.80 per hour
