About the Role
Heavy Equipment Operator (Contract/Interim) based in Inverurie, paying £14–£16 per annum (rate to be confirmed). You will operate and maintain diverse heavy machinery for mining applications, undertaking excavation, grading, lifting, and material movement. Duties include routine upkeep—greasing, oiling, cleaning—to avert breakdowns, promptly reporting faults for repair, and supporting site preparation through debris clearance, ground leveling, and soil compaction to ensure a secure workspace. This role demands proven handling of heavy plant, a strong safety focus, and mechanical aptitude. The working pattern is variable, reflecting contract demands. Prior experience in mining or quarry settings is advantageous.
You will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy machinery and equipment used in mining industries. Primary role is to safely and efficiently operate heavy tools and equipment to perform tasks such as excavation, grading, lifting, and moving materials.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment, such as greasing, oiling, and cleaning, to ensure proper functioning and prevent breakdowns. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel for repair.
Assist in site preparation activities, such as clearing debris, leveling ground, and compacting soil, to create a safe and stable work area.
