Healthcare Assistant

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.

• Support patients with mobility and physical assistance, including repositioning and use of mobility aids.

• Monitor and record vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure) and report abnormalities to the nursing team.

• Assist with feeding patients who need help, and document food and fluid intake accurately.

• Support registered nurses with clinical tasks where appropriate (e.g., specimen collection, simple wound care).

• Observe and report any changes in a patient''s physical or emotional condition.

• Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control procedures.

• Accurately document care provided in patient records or care plans.

• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient transfers.

• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, respecting their dignity and individual needs.

• Help maintain stock levels of medical supplies and ensure equipment is cleaned and stored correctly.

• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and mandatory updates.
