Health & Safety Specialist

Job DescriptionVenn Group is delighted to be supporting a public sector organisation in the recruitment of an Interim Health and Safety Consultant for an initial 3-month project. This key role will lead a strategic review of existing Health and Safety policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with current legislation and organisational standards.Key responsibilities of the role:Lead a comprehensive review and update of the organisation’s Health and Safety policies and proceduresEnsure all policies reflect current legislation, best practice, and internal compliance standardsProvide expert advice and guidance to senior leaders and stakeholders across various departmentsEngage with staff at all levels to assess operational risks and embed practical HandS improvementsDeliver clear, strategic recommendations to support long-term cultural and procedural changeTravel to various office sites across the UK to meet with teams and assess local compliance practicesReport on findings, progress, and key risks throughout the project lifecycleIdeal candidate profile:Holds an advanced Health and Safety qualification –

NEBOSH Diploma

(or equivalent) is essentialProven experience delivering complex HandS reviews, policy updates, and compliance auditsStrong understanding of relevant UK legislation and industry standardsConfident working with diverse internal stakeholders and delivering improvement across multiple sitesHighly self-motivated and comfortable managing a standalone projectWilling and able to travel to regional offices as required (minimum once per site during contract)Experience within public sector, infrastructure, transport, or regulatory environments is advantageousAgency reference number:
