Role PurposeTo assist with and, where appropriate, lead or facilitate the implementation of Health and Safety management systems to ensure legal compliance and promote safe working practices. The role involves delivering training, providing strategic advice, conducting risk assessments, and performing compliance audits across retail, office, concessions, and warehouse operations.

Health and Safety Officer Key ResponsibilitiesConduct and review detailed risk assessments across all operational areas including retail, office, and concessions.Carry out internal compliance audits to ensure adherence to legal requirements and company policies.Support and improve the Health and Safety Management System, maintaining all related documentation (e.g., Safe Working Methods, COSHH, manual handling assessments, emergency procedures).Provide training and inductions for new employees and deliver in-person training during national site visits.Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; compile reports, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.Assist with the development of Health and Safety Business Plans and project initiatives.Advise on best practices, including contractor management by reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements.Liaise with internal stakeholders (Retail, Distribution, Facilities, Imports, Sales, Product teams) and external bodies (HSE, Local Authorities, solicitors, insurers).Provide Health and Safety support and cover within warehouse/logistics operations when required.Maintain accurate Health and Safety digital records and GDPR-compliant data.

Health and Safety Officer Qualifications and ExperienceNEBOSH National General Certificate - EssentialIOSH membership - desirableFirst Aid and Fire Marshal certification - desirableFull, clean UK driving licence - EssentialMinimum 3 years'' experience in Health and Safety within retail, warehousing/logistics, or office environmentsProven experience with risk assessments, compliance auditing, and risk management projectsKnowledge of fire safety, asbestos, legionella controls, and basic engineering/electrical safety preferred
