Health Safety and Environmental Manager

We are recruiting an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to lead the full site safety agenda for a high-volume, complex manufacturing environment. This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for embedding a world-class safety culture across a large single-site operation employing a diverse workforce.The successful candidate will be both a strategic thinker and hands-on operator, capable of influencing at every level from shop-floor colleagues to senior executives and driving continuous improvement across all HSE disciplines.Roles and Responsibilities Lead the site s overall Health, Safety and Environmental strategy, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and corporate standards.Act as the site s principal HSE advisor, providing expert guidance to the leadership team and operational managers.Drive a proactive, behavioural-based safety culture through coaching, training, and visible leadership.Own the site HSE management system, ensuring that policies, risk assessments, and safe systems of work are fully up to date.Lead accident/incident investigations using root cause analysis; ensure corrective actions are implemented and audited.Manage internal and external audits (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001), ensuring the site maintains or exceeds certification requirements.Oversee COSHH, machinery safety, permit-to-work systems, emergency response planning, and contractor safety management.Ensure effective environmental controls covering waste, emissions, ..... full job details .....
