The Opportunity
A well-established and successful manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Quality Manager to lead and develop its Health, Safety and Quality functions. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will take full responsibility for Health & Safety and Quality across the organisation. Working closely with colleagues at all levels, you will ensure compliance, reduce risk, improve performance, and implement sustainable improvements that add real value to the business.
This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence positive change within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve the company''s Health, Safety and Quality systems.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, regulations, and quality standards.
- Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
- Drive corrective and preventative actions to reduce risk and improve performance.
- Manage and develop the Quality Management System.
- Investigate customer complaints, non-conformances, and quality issues.
- Work closely with operational teams to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
- Monitor and report on Health, Safety and Quality performance metrics.
- Promote a positive safety culture and right-first-time approach across the business.
- Deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, consistency, and operational effectiveness.
- Support internal and external audits while maintaining accurate compliance documentation.
- Provide guidance, training and support to employees and managers on Health, Safety and Quality best practice.
About You
- Proven experience within a Health & Safety and/or Quality management role.
- Experience gained within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and Quality Management principles.
- Experience conducting audits, investigations, risk assessments and implementing corrective actions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- The confidence to challenge existing practices and drive positive change.
- A proactive, hands-on and solution-focused approach.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Relevant Health & Safety and Quality qualifications would be highly advantageous.
