Job Title: Health and Safety OfficerLocation: SalfordContract Type: 12-Week Fixed Term ContractHours: 36 hours per week - Monday to Friday Start Date: ASAPRate of Pay: Negotiable depending on experienceAbout the Role:We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health and Safety Officer to join our team at a Salford-based college for a 12-week fixed term contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting and maintaining a safe, compliant, and positive working and learning environment for all students, staff, and visitors.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and support all aspects of health, safety, and welfare across the college.Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and college policies.Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations.Deliver health and safety training, guidance, and support to staff as required.Liaise with external agencies and ensure statutory obligations are met.Promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the college community.Essential Requirements:Proven experience in a Health and Safety role, ideally within an educational or public sector environment.A recognised Health and Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent).Excellent communication and organisational skills.Strong knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation and best practice.A current Enhanced DBS certificate (this is essential for the ..... full job details .....
