Health And Safety Officer

We are working with a global engineering leader to find an experienced Health and Safety Officer to join their Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental team in Milton Keynes. This is a hands-on, onsite role (Monday to Friday, 8am 4pm) where you ll take responsibility for maintaining and continually improving the Health and Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 45001 and UK Health and Safety legislation. Working across a busy engineering, manufacturing and warehousing environment, you ll partner with managers and employees throughout the business, providing practical advice and helping to drive a positive and proactive safety culture. What you ll be doing You ll manage and continually improve the Health and Safety Management System, support ISO 45001 compliance and internal/external audits, and monitor changes to relevant UK legislation. Day to day, you ll carry out workplace inspections and compliance checks, investigate incidents and near misses, facilitate risk assessments, COSHH assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work, and review contractor RAMS. You ll also deliver Health and Safety training and toolbox talks, coordinate the HandS committee, support fire safety and emergency preparedness, and produce reports and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
