Job Title: Health and Safety Manager
Location: Midlands and Surrounding Areas (with travel to sites)

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health and Safety Manager to join a leading civil engineering contractor working across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and groundworks projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong knowledge of health and safety practices in construction to take ownership of HSE across multiple live sites in the Midlands and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of Health and Safety across operational sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance.
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and site-specific plans.
- Provide expert advice to site teams on health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and training sessions to promote a strong safety culture.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies on health and safety matters.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum) – diploma or equivalent is desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction site safety.
- Proven experience in a similar HSE role within civil engineering or construction.
- Full UK driving licence (essential due to travel requirements).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Membership of IOSH or other relevant professional bodies is advantageous.
