Are you an experienced Health and Safety leader looking for a new challenge where you can make a tangible impact across an organisation that supports people and communities? We’re looking for a strategic, forward-thinking professional to lead and continuously improve our Health and Safety (HandS) function for our client.
6-month FTCLocation and Contract
Location: Edinburgh (traveling will be required).Responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategic HandS framework aligned with organisational goals.Review and enhance policies, procedures, and systems to support health, safety and wellbeing.Lead the incident management system, including reporting, investigation and trend analysis.Prepare detailed reports for the Executive Team, Audit Sub-Committee and Board.Ensure all Fire Risk Assessments and Evacuation Plans are current across offices, care homes and HMOs.Monitor compliance with statutory requirements, including RIDDOR, and conduct regular inspections and audits.Advise on the selection and use of PPE and ensure employee competency and training are maintained.Collaborate with HR on health and wellbeing strategies, including risk assessments and workplace wellbeing programmes.Oversee delivery and effectiveness of HandS training and communications.Liaise with external agencies including HSE, SHR, contractors and suppliers to ensure best practice is maintained.What We’re Looking For
Chartered Membership of IOSH and a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).Qualifications in auditing and fire safety management (or willingness to achieve with support).A strong track record in a senior Health and Safety role with experience in both strategic and operational environments.Knowledge of relevant HandS legislation and regulatory frameworks.Experience of preparing board-level reports and influencing senior stakeholders.A collaborative approach, with excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.Experience within public, voluntary or housing sectors is desirable.Strong analytical, planning and project management skills.Ability to lead organisational change and embed quality frameworks.Skilled in risk management, problem solving and decision-making.Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.Capable of engaging and motivating teams across multiple locations.Generous holiday entitlementFlexible working arrangementsIf you are passionate about creating safe, healthy and inclusive environments and want to make a lasting difference, we would love to hear from ..... full job details .....
