Health and Safety Manager

Elvet Recruitment are working with a well-established client to recruit an experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead and develop health and safety standards across a diverse range of operations, including surfacing, civil engineering, earthworks and demolition. Working closely with directors, Contracts Managers and site teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing consistent health and safety practices, providing practical advice and driving continuous improvement across project sites, offices, yards, workshops, plant and transport operations. This is a hands-on role suited to a confident, knowledgeable HandS professional with a strong technical background, a practical approach to risk management and the ability to challenge unsafe practices. Key Responsibilities Lead the development, review and implementation of health and safety policies, procedures and management systems across the group. Undertake site visits and workplace audits to assess compliance, identify potential hazards and ensure remedial actions are followed through. Provide guidance to project teams on construction phase plans, risk assessments and method statements, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 requirements. Offer specialist advice on high-risk construction activities, including demolition, groundworks, temporary works, lifting operations, working at height and plant movements.
