Health And Safety Lead – Manufacturing - Lancaster

We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety professional to support the delivery of a robust safety strategy across a complex manufacturing environment. This role will support the Head of EHS and collaborate with teams across the business to ensure legal compliance, promote a positive safety culture, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant UK H&S legislation and ISO standards (ISO 45001, 14001).
• Support and implement group-wide health and safety initiatives and strategy.
• Lead specific safety programs and act as the subject matter expert for selected risk areas.
• Liaise with external regulators and agencies (HSE, insurers, emergency services).
• Assist with investigations, audits, inspections, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Monitor and analyse safety performance data to support continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance on occupational health, risk assessment, and safe systems of work.

Requirements:

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent NVQ.
• Certified member of a recognised H&S body (e.g., IOSH).
• Proven experience in a lead health and safety role, ideally in manufacturing.
• Strong working knowledge of UK H&S law and standards.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
• Experience with systems such as PUWER, LOLER, LOTO, DSEAR is advantageous.
