Health and Safety Lead Auditor, AWS Health and Safety Program Team. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are looking for a motivated Health and Safety (HandS) Lead Auditor to drive safety compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across our Infrastructure Services.The ideal candidate will have strong auditing expertise, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to influence stakeholders, a solid knowledge base in safety management systems and regional safety standards, and a proven track record of designing and improving safety programs. The role requires the ability to define clear requirements in ambiguity, proactively educate team members and leaders, and communicate effectively at all levels of the business. The role will evolve with the maturity of the HandS Audit Program and requires flexibility and strong cross-jurisdiction collaboration.Key responsibilities

Partner with business support functions to plan for and execute HandS AuditsManage end-to-end audit projects and borrowed resourcesLead and/or participate in audits. Lead a team of internal auditors to execute audits including on-site verification and self-assessments which provides objective, independent assurance on the effectiveness of the Safety Management Program (SMP)Facilitate and liaise with multiple stakeholders, including Operations leaders, to mutually accept audit findings and appropriate corrective actionDraft clear and concise audit reports within agreed timeframes. Guide management on appropriate corrective actionFollow up on audit recommendations to ensure appropriate corrective action has been taken to resolve identified deficienciesPerform analyses of audit outcomes to identify trending issues. Report on key metrics and make recommendations for process and system improvementsHighlight, and provide corrective action solutions for hazards identified outside of a defined audit scopePartner with the SMP team, Data Center Health and Safety (DCHS) and HS Legal to create a continuous loop of feedback that will continuously improve the SMPShare best practices to assist in the continuous improvement of individual and organizational HandS performanceSupport the design and delivery of internal auditor trainingEarn trust of operations partners through proactive and continuous engagement to understand the business, identify emerging risks and educateOther HandS program management duties as neededAbility to travel nationally and internationally (estimated at 50%)About the team

About AWSBASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experienceBachelor''s degree or equivalent3+ years’ experience in internal or external auditing3+ years’ experience in program or project managementPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

ISO45001 lead auditor certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of startStrong analytical, interpersonal, organizational and relationship building skills, and the ability to coach at multiple levelsKnowledge of applicable region specific federal, state, and local health and safety regulationsExperience working with multiple countries/jurisdictions to deliver audit programsOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
