Health and Safety / Compliance Manager Salary: £38,500 - £42,000 DOE Contract: Temporary to permanent Hours: 30 hours per week (Flexible and hybrid working) Location: Somerset Purpose of the Role The Health and Safety / Compliance Manager will be the Designated Competent Person for Health and Safety, providing strategic leadership, expert advice and assurance across all schools. The postholder will ensure statutory health and safety responsibilities, manages risk effectively and maintains consistent compliance arrangements. They will promote a positive, proactive safety culture and provide senior leaders and Trustees with assurance on health and safety performance. Key Responsibilities Act as the Designated Competent Person, providing expert advice to the CEO, senior leaders, schools and Trustees. Develop and implement the Trust-wide Health and Safety Strategy, policies and procedures. Maintain oversight of Trust-wide health and safety risks and provide appropriate challenge, advice and assurance. Ensure effective systems are in place for risk management, statutory compliance and health and safety monitoring. Monitor changes in legislation and ensure Trust arrangements remain compliant and effective. Lead a programme of health and safety audits, inspections and compliance reviews, ensuring actions are followed through.
