Health and Safety Advisor - ImminghamResponsible for providing health and safety support and guidance across a major port construction project. The role involves monitoring compliance with HSE legislation, project requirements, and safe working procedures; conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and audits; investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions; delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings; and promoting a strong safety culture among contractors and project personnel.Key responsibilities include:Providing day-to-day HSE advice and guidance to project management, supervisors, engineers, contractors and subcontractors.Monitoring construction and marine-related activities, including earthworks, excavation, lifting operations, heavy equipment movements, temporary works, civil works, structural installation and port infrastructure activities.Conducting regular site inspections, safety observations, audits and compliance assessments to identify hazards and unsafe practices.Reviewing and supporting the development of risk assessments, method statements, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Safe Systems of Work.Ensuring appropriate control measures are implemented for high-risk activities, including lifting operations, working at height, confined spaces, hot work, excavation, electrical works and work near water.Monitoring compliance with Permit-to-Work systems and verifying that required controls are in place before work commences.Supporting the planning and ..... full job details .....
