Health and Safety Advisor

Health and Safety Advisor Civils / Construction Location: Birmingham / West Midlands Position: Permanent We are recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor to join an established construction contractor delivering civil engineering projects across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands. This opportunity is open to Health and Safety professionals at different stages of their career, from developing Advisors through to experienced Project-level HandS Advisors. Previous civil engineering experience is not essential. We are happy to consider candidates from other construction sectors who are looking to move into civils and infrastructure, with training and upskilling available where required. The Role You will work closely with project and site teams, providing practical Health and Safety support across live civil engineering projects in Birmingham. Key responsibilities will include: Carrying out regular site visits, inspections and HandS audits. Providing practical Health and Safety advice and guidance to project and site teams. Reviewing RAMS and other site safety documentation. Monitoring site activities and identifying potential risks. Supporting incident and near-miss investigations. Ensuring compliance with company procedures and HandS legislation. Working closely with subcontractors and site teams to promote safe working practices. Supporting toolbox talks and safety briefings.
