London We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to work for a Regional Civil Contractor who works across London specializing a variety of civil engineering sectors with a primary focus of infrastructure based projects. Role will be based inLondon with the candidate expected to travel intermittently to various project sites when required.Role and ResponsibilitiesSupporting managers and employees to implement the health and safety systems, including delivery of objectives and plansUndertaking incident/accident investigation and report writingOutlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazardsUndertaking risk assessments and site inspections to consider how risks can be reducedKeeping records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvementsDelivering site safety inductions to new personnelEnsuring that equipment is installed correctly/safelyWriting internal health and safety policies/strategiesCompiling statisticsAssisting procurement team with tender document preparation in relation to environmental, health and safety questionsMaking presentations to groups of employees/managersInstigating health and safety meetings and training courses for managers and employeesLiaising with relevant authorities, i.e. Health and Safety ExecutiveReviewing and interpreting environmental reportsEnsuring compliance with environmental statutory obligationsKeeping up to date and ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislationMaking changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislationProducing management reports, newsletters and bulletinsManaging and organising the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g. asbestosAdvising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseasesApply For This Job
