Health and Safety Advisor

Our local authority client based in Coventry are urgently seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor. Health and Safety Advisor 37 hours per week hybrid working (1-2 days on-site plus 1 office day per week for team meeting) 20.29 per hour 3 months+. Applicants must also be able to travel efficiently to sites across Coventry as required. Job Role Providing professional health and safety advice and guidance across a large and diverse Local Authority. Supporting managers with risk assessments, audits, inspections and accident investigations. Reviewing and developing health and safety policies, procedures and management systems. Delivering health and safety training, information and guidance to managers and employees. Monitoring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and best practice. Supporting contractor management, CDM compliance and corporate health and safety initiatives. Producing reports, analysing incident trends and recommending preventative actions. Working closely with senior managers, Trade Unions, external agencies and enforcement bodies where required. Requirements NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (essential). IOSH Membership (CMIOSH, GradIOSH or working towards Chartered status). Health and safety auditing, inspections, investigations and risk assessments.
