Health and Safety Adviser
The Health and Safety (HandS) Adviser supports the OHSE specialism by leading HandS investigations, conducting reviews, and reporting. The HandS Adviser is responsible for embedding HandS legislation, regulations, and key HandS communications across the business.Responsibilities: Leading investigations, audits, and assurance reviews, and identifying key learning points to drive continuous improvement. Acting as an escalation point for HandS advice and guidance across the business. Managing elements of embedding OHS legislation and regulations across the SDA. Supporting the development and maintenance of policy and Safety and Environmental Management Systems, while leading on specific aspects of policy management and maintenance. Overseeing the maintenance and development of appropriate KPIs and BPIs, dashboard reporting, and risk registers. Managing corporate communications on key HandS messages to ensure effective delivery. Further responsibilities within the role include liaising with business stakeholders to develop HandS systems and procedures, communicating with all departments across the shipyard, and guiding teams on HandS matters. The role also involves ensuring that workplace risks are controlled and that the organisation successfully meets safety standards.
