The Role
As a Teacher of Health & Social Care, you will:
- Deliver high-quality and engaging lessons across KS4 and Post-16.
- Inspire students through innovative and relevant teaching that links learning to real-world healthcare and social care settings.
- Prepare learners for examination success and coursework assessments.
- Foster independent learning, critical thinking and professional understanding.
- Monitor progress effectively and provide meaningful feedback to support achievement.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
- Create a positive, inclusive and aspirational classroom environment.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement.
- Support enrichment opportunities and wider school initiatives.
- Play an active role within the wider life of the school community.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in Health & Social Care, Nursing, Public Health, Social Sciences or a related discipline.
- Experience teaching Health & Social Care at KS4 and/or Post-16 level.
- Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- The ability to motivate, challenge and support learners of all abilities.
- High expectations for student achievement, behaviour and attendance.
- A commitment to raising attainment and securing positive outcomes for every learner.
- A dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
