Health & Safety Manager (Airports)

An established facilities management and engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and continually improve safety performance across airport operations and projects. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with UK legislation, client requirements, airport regulations and internal procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensure Health & Safety compliance across airport operations and project activities.
• Manage permits, audits, accreditations and regulatory requirements.
• Review and develop H&S policies, RAMS, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Conduct site inspections, investigations and monthly H&S performance reporting.
• Provide expert H&S guidance to operational and project teams.
• Oversee subcontractor onboarding, compliance and competency checks.
• Produce and maintain COSHH assessments and safety documentation.
• Complete PQQs and manage industry accreditations including CHAS and SafeContractor.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety campaigns and workforce communications.
• Drive continuous improvement and promote a positive safety culture.

What you''ll need to succeed

The successful candidate will possess significant Health & Safety experience within a regulated airport environment. Experience working at Heathrow and/or Gatwick would be advantageous, although not essential. You will hold a NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate as a minimum and demonstrate a strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations, and the management of safety within complex, high-risk operational environments.
