Health & Safety Advisor - M&E Contractor - Midlands

The Company:

GDS Partners is recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor on behalf of a growing Mechanical & Electrical Contractor delivering a varied portfolio of projects across the Midlands.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, our client is looking to strengthen their Health & Safety team with an experienced and proactive professional. The is a multi site role will involve supporting multiple projects across the region.

The Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, site management and subcontractors to ensure high standards of Health & Safety are maintained across all projects.

This is a site-focused position offering good variety and the opportunity to join a contractor with ambitious plans for continued growth.
Key Responsibilities

• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and Health & Safety reviews.
• Review and assist with the preparation of RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Ensure projects comply with company procedures and current UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Provide practical Health & Safety advice and support to project and site teams.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and promote safe working practices.
• Assist with accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
• Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings where required.
• Maintain appropriate Health & Safety documentation and reporting.
• Work with management to identify areas for improvement and promote a positive safety culture.
• Support multiple projects across the Midlands as required.

Requirements:

• Previous Health & Safety experience within the construction industry.
• Experience within M&E / building services would be advantageous.
• NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and construction site requirements.
• Experience with RAMS, site inspections, audits and contractor management.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with site teams and management.
• Comfortable travelling between projects across the Midlands.
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred.

Package:

• £45,000 – £55,000, depending on experience.
