Health & Safety Advisor

A fast-paced organisation is seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support the development of health, safety and risk management across its operational environment.

This is a hands-on role for an HSE professional who is comfortable on site, confident influencing others, and committed to driving practical safety improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support risk assessment reviews
Manage near miss reporting processes
Support accident, incident and loss investigations
Maintain HSE trackers and reporting data
Conduct safety tours, inspections and audits
Support leading and lagging KPI reporting
Deliver risk assessment training and toolbox talks
Work with operational teams to improve risk controls
Support development of the HSE management system
Assist with ISO 45001 readiness

Skills & Competencies

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to coach and influence at all levels
Confident interpreting hazard and risk information
Proactive and practical approach to problem solving
Systems thinker with a continuous improvement mindset
Comfortable in a fast-paced operational environment
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint
Power BI knowledge would be an advantage
Understanding of lean systems and 5S principles

Experience

Experience in manufacturing, construction, utilities, renewables, pharmaceuticals, housing or logistics
Experience investigating near misses, accidents or loss events
Familiar with HSE guidance including HSG65, HSG48, HSG245 and HSG253
Experience using HSE systems such as Sphera, EcoOnline, Sypol or Maximo
Able to produce HSE metrics and dashboard reporting
Exposure to ISO 45001 or similar management systems
