Head of Technical FM Services

Overview

University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking to appoint a Head of Technical FM Services who will be responsible for the Engineering Infrastructure, technical delivery and compliance of all UAL campus buildings and to ensure compliance with all statutory and technical requirements.The Head of Technical FM Services is a pivotal role within the Estates team offering the opportunity to shape the future of our built environment while supporting world leading education in the creative arts. Reporting to the Associate Director of Facilities Management, you will be responsible for ensuring all statutory and regulatory requirements are met across UAL’s estate. You will lead a team of professionals in delivering planned and reactive maintenance, long term asset management, and capital project support. Your expertise will drive service excellence, innovation, and sustainability, ensuring our facilities meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and performance.Responsibilities

Lead a team of professionals in delivering planned and reactive maintenance, long term asset management, and capital project support.Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements across UAL’s estate.Drive service excellence, innovation, and sustainability in facilities management.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimise operational performance and safety.Qualifications

Substantial post-qualification experience in managing technical FM services (in-house and outsourced).Strong technical background; educated to HNC level or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or fire safety systems.Hands-on knowledge of critical power infrastructure including UPS, generators, and CHP systems.Experience applying Health and Safety principles; NEBOSH or equivalent certification preferred.Familiarity with CDM, L8, and asbestos management.The Candidate Brochure can be viewed at: UAL - Head of Technical FM ServicesFor a briefing discussion please contact our retained advisors Joe Glendon (joe.glendon@mrgglobal.com) and Connor Humpage (connor.humpage@mrgglobal.com) at MRG.
