We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Head of Technical – Entertainment (Sound and Lighting) to lead all aspects of entertainment technical delivery across our holiday park. You’ll ensure the smooth operation, setup, and maintenance of all audio, lighting, AV, and stage equipment for live shows, events, and activities. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring excellent technical expertise, team coordination skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality guest experiences in a live entertainment environment.Key Responsibilities
Technical Operations:
Oversee all technical aspects of entertainment productions, including sound, lighting, AV, and stage equipment. Ensure equipment is correctly installed, programmed, operated, and maintained for daily shows and one-off events. Deliver high production values consistently, supporting the creative vision of the entertainment team.Maintenance and Safety:
Perform regular inspections, testing, and maintenance of all technical systems and equipment. Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations, PAT testing, and risk assessments. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to avoid disruptions during performances.Team Management:
Lead and manage the entertainment tech team, including technicians and casual crew. Train and support team on correct use of equipment and safety procedures. Schedule rotas and allocate resources based on event requirements.Production Support:
Work with show producers, choreographers, and entertainers to plan technical elements for seasonal shows and special events. Assist with rehearsals, soundchecks, and live performance cues. Maintain technical show documentation and cue sheets. Manage technical inventory, ensuring all gear is tracked, serviced, and securely stored. Recommend upgrades and replacements when needed. Liaise with suppliers for equipment hire, purchase, and servicing.Requirements
Proven experience in live entertainment technical roles, ideally within holiday parks, theatres, or live venues.Strong working knowledge of sound desks, lighting desks (DMX/LED), microphones, PA systems, and AV equipment.Experience managing or supervising small technical teams.Familiarity with UK health and safety standards for live events.Hands-on, problem-solving approach with great attention to detail.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak holiday seasons.Relevant technical qualifications (e.g. BTEC/HND in Technical Theatre, Live Events Production).Experience with QLab, lighting control systems (Avolites, Chamsys, etc.), and digital sound desks (Yamaha, Behringer, etc.).First aid or fire marshal training.Electrical knowledge (e.g. 17th/18th Edition) or PAT testing certification.What We Offer
