Role OverviewAs Head of Strategic Finance, you will work closely with the CFO and CEO to develop our capital strategy, build investor relationships, and support fundraising. You’ll develop and execute a proactive financing roadmap—aligning capital sources with growth objectives, evaluating funding options (equity and debt), and supporting the CFO and CEO in investor engagements. When not fundraising, you’ll lead strategic finance projects and support decision-making on capital allocation, MandA, and corporate development.
This role is ideal for someone with venture capital, venture lending or other investing experience seeking to build a business from within. It requires strategic long-term thinking, problem solving, and the ability to present a clear investor narrative, paired with analytical skills to prepare materials and manage fundraising processes.
Responsibilities
Capital Strategy and Planning
– Develop and refine the company’s medium- and long-term capital strategy; evaluate and support negotiation of capital solutions across equity, venture debt, asset-backed lending, and infrastructure capital; create financial models and scenario planning to inform funding options and capital allocation; analyse financing options and optimal capital structures; model funding scenarios and prepare recommendations for executive consideration.
Fundraising and Investor Relations
– Lead all aspects of fundraising (equity, debt, and other non-dilutive financing); prepare investor materials, manage due diligence, and maintain an investor pipeline; manage relationships post-fundraise and ensure reporting aligns with strategy.
Strategic Finance and Corporate Development
– Provide an external lens on strategy via investor-focused analysis (e.g., LTV/CAC, unit economics, pricing); maintain long-term financial models and forecasts; support MandA evaluation, deal structuring, and integration planning; collaborate on board materials and capital allocation planning.
