Head of Schools Admissions Service Education Qualified Local Authority Experience Essential We are seeking an experienced Head of Schools Admissions Service to provide strategic and operational leadership of the school admissions function within a Local Authority. The successful candidate will have significant local authority experience, a strong background in education and detailed knowledge of school admissions legislation, statutory guidance and processes. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Schools Admissions Service, ensuring an efficient, high-quality and customer-focused service. Ensure compliance with statutory admissions requirements, legislation and guidance. Develop and review admissions policies, procedures and service standards. Provide expert advice to senior leaders, elected members, schools, academy trusts and other partners. Lead, motivate and develop the admissions team. Manage complex admissions cases, appeals and in-year admissions. Monitor performance and deliver continuous service improvement. Work closely with Education, SEND, School Place Planning, Legal and Children s Services colleagues. About You You will have: A recognised education qualification and/or substantial professional experience in education. Proven experience working within a local authority, ideally in school admissions or a related education service. Strong knowledge of the school admissions framework and statutory requirements.
