TeacherActive is proud to be working with a small independent school in Wolverhampton that supports pupils aged 11-16 with SEMH needs. The school is committed to providing young people with the additional support they need to achieve their ambitions and has exciting plans for future growth and expansion.The school is looking to appoint a Head of School on a permanent, full-time basis, working 08:30-17:00. The successful Head of School will oversee staff development, curriculum delivery across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4, teaching and learning, regulatory compliance and relationships with key stakeholders, while providing proactive leadership across the wider school environment.The successful Head of School will have:• A degree in a relevant subject area and QTS or QTLS, or an overseas equivalent, with NPQH or working towards it desirable • Proven educational leadership experience at Head of Department, SLT or Headteacher level, ideally within alternative provision, including managing staff teams and small school cohorts • Strong knowledge of SEMH, SEN and additional needs, alongside the alternative provision landscape, Independent School Standards and school compliance requirements • A strong understanding of core subject delivery across English, Maths and Science, with experience improving teaching and learning outcomes • Excellent engagement, communication and relationship-building skills with pupils, staff, external agencies and local authorities • A proactive ..... full job details .....
