Head of Procurement

Your new companyA public sector organisation is seeking an Interim Head of Procurement/Director of Procurement to support the function through an important period of change and improvement. Working with an established procurement team, you will focus on strengthening procurement processes, embedding best practice and supporting the delivery of key transformation initiatives. This is a 12-18-month contract based in Birmingham, with 2 days per week in the office.Your new roleAs Interim Head of Procurement, you will provide experienced leadership to the procurement function, ensuring continuity of service while driving targeted improvements across procurement and contract management activities.Key responsibilities will include:Leading and supporting an established procurement teamDriving procurement improvement and transformation initiativesStrengthening contract management, governance and supplier performanceEnsuring compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 and public sector regulationsSupporting stakeholders across the organisation on procurement and commercial mattersDelivering procurement activity, sourcing projects and value-for-money outcomesWhat you''ll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will have:Experience operating at Head of Procurement or Senior Procurement Manager level within the public sectorA track record of delivering procurement change, improvement or transformation programmesStrong knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and public sector ..... full job details .....
