Overview
Daily management of the yard functions and operational teams. To oversee and manage construction/outfitting/assembly of sections in a newbuild construction scenario or within a repair/renovation through effective coordination of internal and external resources such that safety, quality and delivery of the work are maintained within the requirements of each project and the Company’s overarching policies and procedures.Requiring a hands-on approach, the role will encompass all phases of project development, from pre-contract activities through to final handover.Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of project performance, service delivery and safety management systems by providing effective planning, budget, time and quality controls.Support of the bid and tender development processes.Provide visible, pro-active HSandE leadership, ensuring that all HSandE policies and processes are followed, including any necessary client-specific requirements in particular, ensure that stated requirements for incident reporting, task risk assessment and safe methods of work are followed.Plan all aspects of contract compliance and management to include change control, contract variations and actively seek to develop opportunities with the client.Manage and control the production schedules, leading on risks and issues for projectsBe conversant with the contract and commercial aspects.Control of production processes.Responsible for a portfolio of projects i.e. jackets, barges, steel structures.Management, control and delivery of assigned projects in accordance with Company systems.Line management responsibility, coaching and support to the operational management team by managing and supporting the teams effectiveness and taking corrective action in line with relevant processes.Conduct regular project and contract reviews, regularly reporting the project status internally and externally under the terms of contracts concluding with a formal project close out.Manage operational team budgets.Engage with maintenance departments to minimize downtime across the yardQualifications
Strong experience in fabrication/engineering, to includea senior leadership role.Proven track record in leading large-scale operations, preferably in [steel/metal fabrication, heavy engineering, or related industry].Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or similar methodologies.Solid understanding of HSE regulations and compliance in a fabrication environment.Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills.Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and delivering cost savings.Additional Information
