Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Music department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
Deliver engaging and dynamic Music lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, in line with the national curriculum.
Develop and oversee a broad and ambitious Music curriculum that nurtures studentsandrsquo; passion for the subject.
Lead, manage, and inspire a team of Music teachers, supporting their professional development.
Organize and oversee extracurricular music activities, including school concerts, orchestras, choirs, and productions.
Foster strong relationships with external musical organizations, industry professionals, and local communities.
Ensure students have access to performance opportunities, competitions, and music qualifications such as GCSEs and A-Levels.
Manage department resources effectively and contribute to the schoolandrsquo;s wider cultural and artistic initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Music or a related field.
Proven experience in leading or managing a Music department or a strong track record as a Music Teacher with leadership aspirations.
Comprehensive knowledge of music education, including performance, composition, and music theory.
A passion for developing studentsandrsquo; musical skills and inspiring a love for music across all abilities.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to drive the department forward.
Enthusiasm for extracurricular music programs and a commitment to developing the schoolandrsquo;s musical profile.
A valid Enhanced DBS check and professional references.
