Job Title: Head of Mechanical Engineering Location: Plymouth - Hybrid 2+ days per week on-site Role Type: Permanent Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 depending on experience + benefits Our client, an established engineering consultancy, require an experienced Head of Mechanical Engineer to join and lead their multi-disciplined team based in Plymouth. Please note we can only consider sole UK Nationals due to security clearance restrictions Joining an established function of 80 engineers you will work collaboratively with the Customer and internal engineering teams to provide leadership, technical direction, and delivery oversight across engineering activities supporting nuclear and non-nuclear mechanical and infrastructure assets on site. What the role of the Head of Mechanical Engineering entails: Some of the main duties of the Head of Mechanical Engineering will include: Ensure engineering activities are delivered in accordance with relevant standards, regulatory requirements, and company governance processes. Support engineering delivery across the full project lifecycle including concept development, design, implementation, commissioning, and operational support. Review and approve technical documentation prior to customer submission, ensuring technical integrity, regulatory compliance, and safety considerations are addressed.
