Head of Marine Operations
Location: Sunderland
Jackson Hogg are delighted to be partnering with a leading marine services provider in Sunderland in their search for a Head of Marine Operations.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of marine operations, providing strategic direction, operational oversight and leadership to specialist marine teams while supporting the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all marine operations, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient service delivery.
- Provide leadership and guidance to operational and technical teams.
- Drive a strong HSE culture and champion operational best practice.
- Ensure compliance with relevant maritime regulations and industry standards.
- Oversee ship-to-ship transfer operations and associated marine activities.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures, risk assessments and control measures.
- Monitor operational performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are effectively implemented.
- Support business development activities with operational and technical expertise.
- Build strong relationships with clients, regulators and key stakeholders.
- Manage operational resources, workforce planning and equipment utilisation.
- Lead, coach and develop operational personnel.
- Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting and business growth objectives.
About You
- Significant operational leadership experience within the marine, offshore or port environments.-
- Strong understanding of ship-to-ship transfers and marine operations.
- Proven track record of leading safety-critical operations.
- Experience managing risk, compliance and operational performance.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially aware with the ability to support business growth.
- Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience.
Desirable
- LNG or tanker operations experience.
- International operational leadership experience.
- Experience supporting tenders and client proposals.
- Knowledge of operational technology and process improvement initiatives.
