You will lead a talented team of 8 planners, driving growth and innovation while delivering outstanding results for a diverse client base. Your expertise will help define the cityscape and contribute to the sustainable development of London.As part of a

65-strong planning division , the consultancy has made significant strides in Cambridge and Oxford, working on high-profile, transformative projects. While the London team is already successful, stable, and profitable, it has been identified as a key area for further development within the firm’s 2030 growth strategy. This role will be central to that vision.The London Planning team sits alongside Heritage and Social Economics and Social Value functions, making up a total Planning team of 14 in the capital. The London office also houses market-leading Project Management, Capital Markets, and Energy and Renewables teams, providing a thriving environment for cross-departmental collaboration.This is a senior leadership position within the planning business, offering the opportunity to guide, shape, and expand the London department, while playing a key role in the consultancy’s overall growth strategy.Responsibilities

Leadership:

Inspire and lead a team of planners and consultants, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.Business Development:

Identify new business opportunities and cultivate strategic partnerships to expand the consultancy’s presence in London.Strategy:

Develop and deliver plans to grow the London Planning business in line with the wider group’s vision.Client Management:

Build and sustain strong client relationships, providing expert advice and tailored solutions.Planning Oversight:

Lead on major planning schemes from inception through to completion.Innovation:

Champion forward-thinking practices and sustainable planning solutions.Qualifications and Experience

Proven track record in an executive-level planning role, ideally within a consultancy environment, with a recognised profile in London.Strong understanding of the London planning landscape, including regulatory frameworks and market dynamics.Outstanding leadership and team management skills.Demonstrable success in business development and client relationship management.Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.Relevant degree and

RTPI
