Head of Logistics

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Logistics to join our client''s organisation on an interim basis. This role will focus on strengthening the infrastructure, processes and reporting.

This role with have a strong focus on operational transformation, giving you the opportunity to assess how things currently work, identify inefficiencies and introduce practical improvements that will have a lasting impact.

Working across departments, you will take ownership of a programme designed to improve visibility, control and consistency across the warehouse and inventory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a detailed review of existing warehouse, stock and replenishment processes across multiple locations.
• Analyse the movement of products and information from warehouse through to the retail environment, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and control.
• Review existing inventory processes and system usage, introducing stronger controls where required.
• Develop and document improved operating procedures, ensuring processes are clear, consistent and scalable.
• Introduce meaningful operational measures and KPIs to provide greater visibility of performance.
• Build effective reporting tools and dashboards to support informed operational decision-making.
• Establish appropriate reporting routines and governance processes across relevant teams.
• Use operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Recommend and implement practical solutions to improve accuracy, productivity and service levels.
• Work closely with Finance, Retail, Logistics and IT stakeholders to ensure improvements are successfully embedded.
• Support the transition from project delivery into sustainable, business-as-usual processes.

About You

The successful candidate will bring substantial experience within logistics, warehousing, supply chain or operational transformation, together with a strong track record of improving processes within complex environments.

You will be comfortable getting into the detail, understanding how processes work in practice and using data and insight to challenge existing approaches. The ability to turn analysis into straightforward, commercially practical solutions will be essential.

You will ideally have:

• Strong experience across warehouse, logistics or supply chain environments.
• Demonstrable experience delivering process improvement or transformation programmes.
• A detailed understanding of inventory management, warehouse processes and operational controls.
• Experience developing KPIs, management information and performance dashboards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• The ability to identify issues within data and translate findings into practical actions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across both operational and corporate functions.
• A hands-on and collaborative approach, with the confidence to challenge established processes where appropriate.
• The ability to work independently and drive projects through from initial assessment to implementation.
