Head of HSEQ, Transport and Water Global Business Areas

Join our HSEQ department as our new Head of HSEQ for Transport and Water and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.Your new roleThe Head of HSEQ will set strategic direction for around 5,000 Staff in these Global Business Areas (GBA’s), ensuring compliance, best practices, and continuous improvement within our global Transport and Water Businesses. This role involves collaborating with the Group HSEQ organisation and local Geographic HSEQ leads. The successful candidate will ensure that HSEQ standards are aligned with international regulations, client requirements, and our commitment to quality and safety excellence.Your key responsibilities will be:Maintain management systems with Group HSEQ and local geographic teamsIntegrate HSEQ principles into business operations and project managementEnsure compliance with HSEQ legislation and standardsAdvise leadership on legal and industry developmentsIdentify, assess, and mitigate workplace health, safety, environmental, and quality risksInvestigate incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actionsDesign and deliver HSEQ training and awareness programsAct as primary liaison for clients, regulators, contractors, and internal teamsReport data points as per Group Sustainability Reporting procedureTrack HSEQ key performance indicators (KPIs) and present regular reports to GBA leadershipConduct HSEQ audits, inspections, and assessmentsDrive continuous improvement and implement best practicesParticipate in the Crisis Management Team as per Group Crisis Management ProcedureAbout youThe HSEQ Lead will set and drive the strategic direction for HSEQ within the GBA. They will ensure compliance with international regulations and client requirements while implementing best practices and promoting continuous improvement across the global Transport Business.Minimum qualifications:Bachelor''s degree or equivalent in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related fieldProfessional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA, CQI, or equivalent are highly desirableExtensive experience in an HSEQ leadership role within Transport, Infrastructure, or consultancyStrong knowledge of ISO standards (45001, 14001, 9001), OSHA, EU Directives, and global HSEQ regulationsProven ability to develop and implement HSEQ management systems and drive cultural changeStrong leadership, analytical, and communication skillsExperience in managing and working with leaders and stakeholders at all levelsAbility to influence without authority and achieve results through collaborationLearning and growth mindsetWhat we can offer youCommitment to your developmentLeaders guided by our Leadership PrinciplesA culture that welcomes you as the unique person you areInspiration from colleagues, clients, and projectsThe long-term thinking of a foundation-owned companyReady to join us?Please submit your application with your up-to-date CV.
