The Role

We are working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business to recruit a Head of Health, Safety & Security.

This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for leading the Health & Safety function across a complex, high-risk environment including yard operations, vessels and associated facilities.

You will take ownership of H&S strategy, compliance and day-to-day delivery, ensuring standards are not only met but consistently improved across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the company''s Health & Safety strategy

• Ensure full compliance with UK legislation and industry standards

• Oversee audits, inspections, risk assessments and safe systems of work

• Manage permit to work systems and emergency response planning

• Lead incident investigations and drive corrective actions

• Work closely with senior leadership to embed a strong safety culture

• Deliver training, communication and continuous improvement initiatives

• Maintain and develop ISO standards (ISO9001 / ISO45001)

What We''re Looking For

• Proven experience in a senior H&S leadership role

• Background in a high-risk environment such as engineering, shipbuilding, construction or heavy manufacturing

• Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and compliance

• Experience managing H&S systems, audits and investigations

• Confident engaging at all levels, from shop floor to boardroom

• NEBOSH General Certificate essential, Diploma preferred
