Head of Governance

The Role: Reporting to the CEO, you ll work with the Board and Executive team at a point where the organisation is becoming more deliberate, more confident, and more ambitious. We want governance to be useful, visible, and part of how we actually run. You will help design, shape and deliver our governance framework making sure decisions are properly formed, well-evidenced, and taken with a clear understanding of risk and accountability. You ll be as comfortable thinking about the system as you are making it work in practice. Please refer to our role brief for more information: 2026 - Head of Governance.pdf About You You re someone who: Brings clarity where things are a bit loose or muddled Sees how things connect governance, risk, data, decisions Can turn ambiguity into something structured and workable Writes clearly enough that people rely on what you produce Is comfortable around senior people and not easily knocked off course You might come from governance, risk, programme, operations or somewhere less obvious. Working pattern: You can work from home, or from our head office in Plymouth, or flex between the two. You will have occasional travel to Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall and will be required to attend Board and Committee Meetings in person.
