Head of Geography (September 2026 MPS-UPS + TLR)

We are seeking an ambitious, innovative, and passionate Head of Geography to lead and develop our thriving Humanities faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher and leader to shape a dynamic Geography curriculum that inspires curiosity about the world and equips students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in an ever-changing global society.

We are looking for a motivated professional with a strong subject knowledge, high expectations for student achievement, and the vision to drive excellence across Key Stages 3–5.

As Head of Geography, you will:

• Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
• Develop an engaging, ambitious, and inclusive curriculum
• Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment
• Inspire students through innovative teaching and enrichment opportunities
• Support and develop staff within the department
• Contribute to the wider success and strategic direction of the school

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• A strong academic background in Geography or a related field
• Proven experience of successful teaching across secondary age ranges
• Leadership experience or the readiness to step into a middle leadership role
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• A commitment to high standards, inclusion, and student achievement
