The RoleAs the Head of Fleet and Compliance, you will oversee all aspects of fleet management and compliance to ensure the smooth and legal operation of our transport services. Reporting directly to the Director of Fright Services UK, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, legality, and efficiency in our transport operations.

Key Responsibilities For Head Of Fleet and Compliance
Maintain all relevant aspects of a safe, legal, and compliant transport operation.
Ensure adherence to all statutory laws, including Drivers Hours Rules and Regulations, Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations, Operators Licence obligations, OCRS obligations, DVS requirements, and Company policies and procedures.
Compile and circulate a daily fleet utilization and availability report.
Manage all periodic and ad-hoc fleet repairs and maintenance, including defect rectification, breakdowns, VOR''s (Vehicle Off Road), and spare parts replenishment.
Identify and implement the most cost-effective and efficient solutions to maintain a roadworthy fleet.
Control all temporary and permanent fleet amendments, including vehicle condition checks and registration to all relevant accounts and portals (e.g., TfL, Dart Charge, Mersey Gateway, Tyne Tunnel, Operator Licence, and motor insurance).
Investigate all driver and vehicle-related accidents, incidents, claims, and convictions.
Maintain effective communication with our motor insurance provider.
Uphold the company Health and Safety system, ensuring that all documentation is current and clear, and that processes are adhered to.
Maintain all professional organizations and accreditations.
Ensure driver compliance with DVSA standards.
Ensure vehicle compliance with DVSA standards.
Manage the Operator Licence in accordance with DVSA standards.
Ensure lone worker compliance with company procedures.
Review vehicle accident investigations using the RTC app.
Manage external and internal workshop relationships regarding cost control and SLA agreements.
Manage the process for internal and external camera alerts.
About You
Proven experience in fleet management and compliance within a transport or logistics environment
In-depth knowledge of relevant statutory laws, regulations and compliance standards
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
Proficiency in using fleet management software and other related tools
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certification in transport management or a related field.
Experience with health and safety management systems.
Familiarity with DVSA standards and online platforms.
