Head of Financial Planning & Analysis

OverviewThe Altro Group is seeking a Head of FPandA to join the Finance team. The Group FPandA team are financial business partners to the senior managers within the Altro Floors and Walls and Autoglym divisions and are responsible for preparing tailored financial reporting and analysis including monthly management accounts, analysis of business performance, annual budgets and 5-year plans. This role leads the FPandA team of 6 Management accountants. This is a full-time (37.5 hours a week), permanent, hybrid role (minimum of 3 days a week in our Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire HQ).

Responsibilities

Lead the FPandA team of 6 Management accountants and act as a financial business partner to senior managers across the Altro Floors and Walls and Autoglym divisions

Prepare monthly management accounts and tailored financial reporting

Analyse business performance and support annual budgets and 5-year plans

Drive improvements in financial planning and reporting systems and processes

Oversee system implementations (e.g., JDE or similar) and ensure accurate group financial reporting

Develop financial models, interpret data, and provide clear insights for decision-making

Lead and develop a high-performing FPandA team with strong attention to detail and adherence to deadlines

Qualifications

Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or MBA in Finance

Extensive FPandA experience in a complex, global commercial environment

Proven track record in managing and optimising financial planning and reporting systems

Experience delivering detailed management accounts and business performance analysis (sales, margins, manufacturing, inventory, working capital)

Experience with system implementation (e.g., JDE or similar) and complex group financial reporting

Strong modelling skills, data interpretation, and ability to present concise insights for decision-making

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a proactive, detail-oriented approach
