Head of Financial Accounting

Haysare delighted to be working in partnership with a highly respected andpurpose-driven organisation to recruit a Head of Financial Accounting. This isa rare opportunity for an accomplished finance leader to join a complexorganisation with operations across the UK and internationally, takingownership of financial accounting, statutory reporting, treasury management andfinancial governance. Reporting directly to the CFO, thissenior leadership position offers the opportunity to influence strategicdecision-making, work closely with executive stakeholders and lead ahigh-performing finance function.
Your new role
AsHead of Financial Accounting, you will lead the financial accounting andtransaction processing teams, ensuring the integrity, accuracy and complianceof the organisation''s financial records across multiple entities. You will haveresponsibility for the preparation of annual statutory financial statements,regulatory submissions, treasury management activities and technical accountingmatters, while providing financial leadership across the wider organisation.
Keyresponsibilities will include managing the annual external audit process,overseeing submissions to regulatory bodies including OSCR and Companies House,ensuring compliance with VAT and other tax regulations, maintaining robustfinancial controls and driving continuous improvement across finance systemsand processes. You will also play a key role in supporting senior leadershipthrough the delivery of strategic financial advice and presentations tocommittees and stakeholders.
What you''ll need to succeed
Youwill be a fully qualified accountant (ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)with significant experience leading financial accounting functions within acomplex organisation. You will possess strong technical accounting expertise,ideally within an FRS102 environment, along with a proven track record ofdelivering high-quality statutory reporting, audit management and financialgovernance.
Thesuccessful candidate will bring exceptional analytical and problem-solvingskills, experience of leading and developing finance teams, and the ability tocommunicate complex financial information to both finance and non-financestakeholders. Experience of treasury management, tax compliance and financialsystems improvement will be highly advantageous. Knowledge of Charity SORP andfixed asset accounting under FRS102 would be beneficial but is not essential.
