Full-time, Hybrid: 2-3 days per week in Central London office

About the Organisation

Our client is a respected charity and not-for-profit organisation with a long-standing reputation for delivering initiatives that create positive change for communities and society. Operating with several hundred employees and a diverse range of programmes, they are known for their independent approach and commitment to strong values.

The organisation is based in Central London, with excellent transport links across the city. They support hybrid working, typically requiring 2-3 days per week in the office and the remainder from home.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Chief Commercial Officer, the Head of Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for safeguarding financial integrity and ensuring the Director is kept fully informed on key financial matters.

Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and developing the finance team to provide high-quality support across the organisation.
* Preparing annual accounts in line with Charity SORP and managing the external audit process.
* Overseeing statutory filings, VAT, and tax returns to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
* Producing clear and insightful financial reports for senior leaders and trustees, including cashflow and balance sheet analysis.
* Driving process and system improvements, including leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.
* Managing contracts and supplier negotiations effectively.
* Building strong relationships with internal teams, trustees, and external partners.

About You
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with substantial post-qualification experience, including prior work in the charity or not-for-profit sector.
* Strong understanding of financial accounting, audit, and statutory compliance.
* Skilled in contract management and negotiation.
* Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with tools such as Power BI would be advantageous.
* Flexible, detail-oriented, and delivery-focused, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
