Head of Finance

OverviewA fast-growing tech consultancy is seeking a Head of Finance to lead its finance function end-to-end. This is a unique opportunity for someone who’s commercially sharp, operationally strong, and comfortable working independently in a lean, high-impact environment. You’ll be the financial backbone of the business—partnering with leadership on long-term planning, pricing strategy, and investment decisions, while also rolling up your sleeves to manage day-to-day operations, reporting, and compliance. This hybrid role (minimum 2 days/week in-office) offers strategic influence and operational autonomy.

Responsibilities

Lead the finance function end-to-end and act as the financial backbone of the business.

Partner with leadership on long-term planning, pricing strategy, and investment decisions.

Manage day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and compliance in a lean, high-impact environment.

Support the development of scalable financial systems and processes.

What you’ll bring

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification with 5+ years’ experience

Proven success in a standalone finance role within small to medium sized consulting or professional services organisation

Strong grasp of project accounting, revenue recognition, and financial modelling

Advanced Excel and Xero skills; experience with automation and APIs

Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery

LocationThis position is based in the wider Godalming area and candidates need to live within reasonable commuting distance. It is essential that you are a car owner/driver as the location is not commutable on public transport.

Base pay rangeSalary £60-80,000. This range is provided by Bis Recruit. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
