Head of Finance

Good Afternoon, I am currently representing Brent Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience We are looking for a Head of Finance this role will be based at: HA9 0FJ Hybrid The right candidate will: Provide high-quality financial accounting, strategic management accounting, budgeting and financial planning and commercial advice to a department or function within the council. Provide advice directly to and manage relationships with leading Members, Strategic Directors and other senior managers across the council, and to manage comparable relationships with major partners and contractors. To lead and manage significant financial transactional services and/or operational management services. To be capable of deputising for the statutory chief finance officer (s151 officer). To take a leading responsibility, within own area of work, for identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency and enhance financial control. To make a significant contribution to the leadership and management of the Council and of the department. We require the following: CCAB Qualified Accountant (Preferably CIPFA), with significant post qualification experience and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
